Canyon Road, Historic Eastside, The Plaza, The Railyard

This is the “City Different.” Famous Canyon Road where people come from all over the world to purchase art. In less than a half mile stretch you’ll find hundreds of galleries, boutique shops, and some of the best fine dining restaurants in all of Santa Fe. Every Christmas Eve the street is lined with brown sacks, sand, and candles known as Farolitos for the Farolito walk. They light up the sidewalks. The street is full of folks walking Canyon Road visiting the many galleries, singing Christmas Carols, experiencing live music in the alley ways, hot cider to keep you warm. It’s a lovely tradition.
Some of the most interesting and sought-after real estate is found on and around Canyon Road. A truly historical part of town, you’ll see why many famous artists have taken up residence around here over the years. It feels like you are in Europe or in another country with its intimate tiny alley ways crawling back to reveal old adobe homes hidden off the streets, some dating back centuries. Georgia O’Keeffe Museum is also just down the street.
